Memphis mainstays Lucero, who after 10 years together were signed last year to Universal Records, hit the road recently in support of their new release. The album, entitled 1372 Overton Park, was recorded here at Ardent Studios earlier this year with producer Tedd Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Flogging Molly) and engineer Ryan Mall. Mike Wilson was the assistant on the session.

Their tour has been titled Lucero’s Ramblin’ Roadshow and Memphis Revue, and has been designed by the band to showcase some of their favorite local talent from a variety of genres. It will encompass three rounds of touring: First with Amy LeVere and Cedric Burnside f. Lightning Malcom, then with John Paul Keith & The One Four Fives and Jack Oblivian & The Tennessee Tearjerkers, and finally with The City Champs and The Dirty Streets. (Cedric Burnside, John Paul Keith, and The Dirty Streets have all done some recording at Ardent). The tour was kicked off with a record breaking show at the historical Overton Park Shell, where the likes of The Grateful Dead, Elvis, and many others staged concerts over the last 70+ years.

Keep an eye out for when they’ll be in a venue near you at their Web site, or check out their extensive back catalogue at Amazon.com!
