Big Star's iconic "Number 1 Record," recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, 53 years after its release. This prestigious honor was accepted by surviving member Jody Stephens, celebrating the album's enduring legacy and Ardent Studios' pivotal role.

Memphis, TN – A monumental moment in music history unfolded on May 16th as Memphis’s own Big Star and Ardent Studios were celebrated with one of the music industry’s highest honors. Big Star’s groundbreaking debut album, “Number 1 Record,” was officially inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, a remarkable 53 years after its initial release.

Jody Stephens, the sole surviving member of Big Star, was in attendance to graciously accept this significant accolade. We at Ardent Studios are incredibly proud to have been a part of this iconic album’s creation and are confident that the spirits of Chris Bell, Alex Chilton, Andy Hummel, and John Fry were present alongside Jody, sharing in this well-deserved recognition.
